Definitions
Gaming Machine Proceeds (GMP): the aggregate winnings of gaming machines, minus payouts.
Club societies operate gaming machines at their own premises and can apply the net proceeds to their own operations.
Non-club societies operate their gaming machines out of commercial venues (pubs and clubs), and must distribute their net proceeds to authorised purposes.
Quarters: Calendar quarters (e.g. Q1 = January to March).
Limitations of the data
From June 2019, Hurunui and Kaikoura are no longer reported separately.
Inclusions
This dataset includes:
- commercial venues such as TAB, ten pin bowling, restaurants, pubs and clubs
- non-commercial clubs such as RSA's, sports clubs, workingmen's clubs.
Exclusions
This dataset excludes casinos.
