Mental health - People seen by mental health and addiction services by sex and ethnic group (rates) 2011/12

Ministry of Health

Notes

People seen: Users of mental health and addiction services. The person does not need to be physically present to be counted for example telephone contact with a clinician. The age-specific rate (for each 5 year age group) measures the frequency of clients seen per 100,000 of the particular population for that age group. The age-standardised rate (ASR) is per 100,000 population, standarised to the World Health Organisation (WHO) standard world population. Crude rates are calculated by dividing the number of people seen by the number of people in a population and then multiplying by 100,000. Notes on ethnicity: In order to report a single ethnicity for each client, responses have been prioritised according to a list published by Statistics New Zealand.
