Tertiary Education - Bibliometric performance of Australasian universities 2000–2013
Ministry of Education
This data compares the performance of New Zealand universities with that of Australian public universities. There is bibliometric data for 40 of the 43 Australian universities.
Australian public universities are split into two groupings: G8 (the eight large, metropolitan and research-intensive universities) and non-G8 (all other Australian universities). The G8 universities are the Australian National University, University of Queensland, University of Sydney, University of New South Wales, Monash University, University of Adelaide, University of Melbourne, and the University of Western Australia.
Research impact is the number of citations divided by the number of publications. In this case, the results are normalised to take into account the different rates of citation between subject areas. A value of 1 indicates that the impact of the research is equal to the world average. In this chapter, the impact presented is a weighted average of the 22 subject areas categorised by Thomson Reuters.
