Ministry of Education
The Ministry of Education is Government’s lead advisor on the New Zealand education system, shaping direction for sector agencies and providers. Its purpose is to lift aspiration and raise educational achievement for every New Zealander. In the early childhood and schooling sectors, MOE has responsibility for strategic leadership, policy development and a substantial operational role. In the tertiary sector MOE is focused on leadership and setting direction, stewardship and governance, and monitoring and evaluation.
