Property value: A computer generated value based on market trends and similar properties with comparable attributes which have been recently sold in the area. Properties are not subjected to a physical inspection; therefore it is assumed that the dwelling is in a similar average condition to the comparable dwellings. An estimated value is not intended to be an official appraisal of a home's value.
Houses: Houses are properties that do not share walls with other properties. This does not include townhouses and semi-detached units.
North Island Metro: Hamilton, Tauranga, Napier and Palmerston North.
South Island Metro: Nelson, Dunedin and Invercargill.


Property valuation data includes all residential categories. It excludes rural properties, and rental flats that are built with the specific purpose of being a commercially operated building (purpose built investments).

Method of collection/Data provider

Property values are created using Valocity’s proprietary Automated Valuation Model. The model takes into account recent sales for comparable homes in the same area as well as specific information about the location and other property attributes.
Sale price information and other data are sourced from the local councils and LINZ.
